Basics of Energy Balancing - Our Energy System
|
Our Energy System Defined
Within our bodies lie an energy System which consists of Chakras &
Meridians. Along the meridian lines, are pressure points more commonly
known by Oriental Medicine as acuppunture/acuppressure points. As we
apply pressure or tap on these points we free & clear blocked and stagnate
energy.
Our chakras are small centers located at various points within our bodies
and are aligned with certain organs, mental, emotional & pyschological
aspects of self
MERIDIANS
Meridians are the pathways of the positive and negative energy power,
which carries on some of the communication between the various parts of
human beings.
The twelve standard meridians go along the arms and the legs. They are:
Lung, Large Intestine, Stomach, Spleen, Heart, Small Intestine, Urinary
Bladder, Kidney, Pericardium, Triple Warmer (aka Triple Heater), Gall
Bladder, and Liver. These terms refer to biological functions and not the
structural organ, which is why there are some on the list with no
corresponding anatomical structure. Yin meridians flow upwards. Yang
meridians flow downwards. Pathways corresponding to the Yang organ is
often used to treat disorders of its related Yin organ
CHAKRAS
Chakras are a key factor in all aspects of Reiki & other Energy based
healing. You should have a basic understanding of what they are.
There are 7 major Chakras. They are energy portals where energy flows.
When a Chakra becomes blocked an imbalance occurs. If it is not cleared
then illness and disease can manifest itself.
1. The First Chakra – Root Chakra located at the base of the spine. It is
linked to survival and our ability to ground ourselves in the physical world. It
is also associated with our financial health & well-being.
2. The Second Chakra – Sacral Chakra located just beneath the navel.
It is related to our sexual and reproductive capacity, & our creativity
3. The Third Chakra – Solar Plexus located behind the solar plexus
which gives us our personal power in the world & strength.
4. The Fourth Chakra – Heart Chakra located at the Heart and gives us
the ability to express love.
5. The Fifth Chakra – Throat Chakra is linked to creativity and
communication and the ability to express ourselves properly.
6. The Sixth Chakra – Third Eye Chakra located between the
eyebrows. This is the centre of intuition and awareness.
7. The Seventh Chakra – Crown Chakra located at the top of the head.
This is relates to ones personal and spiritual connection to the universe.
There are several techniques used to determine the existence of blocked
or stagnate energy. The ones listed below only touch on the surface.
Body Scanning/Grid Scanning -
Scanning is a technique that is useful to know. Scanning is placing your
hands into the energy field of another to try to feel for differences in their
energy field. You are basically feeling for anything different. Have the
person to be scanned lay down, and start at the crown. Move the hands
about 2 and 6 inches above the body. Move your hands from crown to feet
and back up. It may take a few passes. Feel if it seems hot, cold, spinning,
fast, slow, chaotic, etc. This is a technique that requires a great deal of
practice to become proficient at. Additionally, remember not to ever
diagnose anything. This is useful in finding places that may need extra
attention during a healing session.
Muscle Testing -
Methods for Energy Testing
Preconceptions can affect an energy test, it is better not to try to guess
what the results will be. Subtle energies are responsive to your thoughts,
so clear your mind as well as you can prior to conducting and energy test. If
either participant is thirsty, begin with a drink of water. Water conducts
electricity and dehydration interferes with the flow of energy in your body.
To conduct an energy test follow these instructions:
1. Both of you take a deep breath. With your exhalation, release your
expectations.
2. The person being tested places either hand straight down the side of
the body with the thumb touching the side of the leg, fingers pointing down.
3. The tester slips an open hand between the body and the arm, just
above the wrist.
4. The tester then asks the other person to hold his or her arm firm,
elbow straight. You can use words like “Don’t let me pull your arm away
from your body.”
5. With an open hand and with pressure from one to two seconds, the
tester slowly pulls on the arms.
6. With neither person straining, the arm will either pull away relatively
easily or it will feel locked into place.
7. When pressure is applied, a muscle with energy flowing through it
may also move a fraction of an inch, but it will bounce right back. Do not
struggle so much to hold your arm firm that you involve other muscles; if you
are the tester, do not struggle to pull the other’s arm away.
This particular method of energy testing involves the Spleen meridian and
is also used to test food, metabolism and as an indicator to find out about
almost anything that is going on in the body. If you are testing food or
supplements, medication, anything else, you can either place in the hand of
the arm that is NOT being tested or you can just merely Think of what it is
you desire to test.
