What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is used as a behavioral modification technique.
Contrary to what others had long ago thought, when you
are in hypnosis you are fully awake and aware of your
surrounding. When you experience a hypnotic state, your
conscious mind has been bypassed and the hypnotist works
directly with the subconscious mind.
You've probably experienced this hypnotic state many
times on your own such as: When driving in your car and
you suddenly realized you've reached your destination.
When watching a movie and you feel sad, happy, scared or
whatever the emotion the movie producer is trying to
instill, or when you reach a light meditative state. These
are all forms of hypnosis.
What happens during a phone session with the
Hypnotist?
Prior to your phone session, you will be asked questions
regarding your medical history and what your presiding
issue is, what made you seek out a Hypnotist.
The Theory of Mind will be discussed which, shows how
our beliefs are formed and how, through hypnosis, we will
work on changing them.
Once the initial induction process has been completed you
will then progress into a more deep and relaxed state of
mind through a relaxation process. It is within this state
that positive suggestions and guided imagery are for
change are used. Suggestions are all based upon how you
receive and process information.
Through a series of questions a determination can be made
as to your "suggestibility" type is. With this information
suggestions and imagery will be used that is more tailored
to you personally.
